Congratulations to senior Caroline Pless on her acceptance to Warren Wilson College. Also, congratulations to senior David Hillsman on his acceptance to King College with a $36,000 scholarship. Further Kudos to senior Camille Leeds on being awarded a Leadership Scholarship from High Point University. Way to go, Class of ‘08!

Great job, Mathcounts Team! Our young math wizards turned in a strong debut performance at the regional competition held in Raleigh yesterday.
Go Knights! We're hoping for a big school turn out at the All Star League Showcase this Saturday, March 1. The evening will feature several of our players and we know from past experience that the League schools will all have a fan base present. Here's the schedule:
6:15 Hot Shot competition- "starring" Terran and Xavier
6:45 Coaches Shootout- yeah- Matt and Greg
7:00 3pt shootout- "starring" David Hillsman
7:30 Boys All-Star Game "starring" Zewek and Michael
8:15 Awards Ceremony..... we have 3 athletes (Zewek, Terran, Michael) nominated for the all-conference team

Wednesday is Spirit Day. Our theme is Sports Day - dress like your favorite sports icon or representing your favorite sport. Hats allowed on this day.
Thursday - yearbook club will launch with art teacher Heather Cramer. Open to students 7th grade and up and billed based on attendance. 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Students will learn to operate the In Design software as well as do hand collage work in the layout of this annual masterpiece. Artistic and computer types needed!

Art classes are in need of the following: - Collection box in Big Hall
Baby food jars with lids, plastic margarine tubs, large old T-shirts for smocks, old towels.
For paper mache projects:
Used light bulbs – all sizes, Cardboard tubes, Small cardboard boxes (jewelry size to shoebox size)
Collect little objects for “Texture Panels” – clear out your “junk drawer.” Keys, buttons, old glasses, tiny dolls or animals, knobs, big screws, little door knobs, combs, costume jewelry, chains … anything small that can be glued to a board. We will create a design with these and then spray paint the whole thing white.
Edu-Camp and Summer School are filling at a record pace! If your student plans to attend either of these summer programs please see the office or our website for registration materials.
