Camelot Update 2014-03-02

Greetings!

Congratulations to senior Brian Powell on his acceptance to Drexel University.

Thank you to Ms. Amy and all of the NHS members who provided a wonderful evening of fun and learning for our Lower School students at Science Night.  Also, thanks to parents Robyn Stephens and Chris Wilkes for their assistance and to the parents of all of the youngsters who participated.  Also, several NHS members plus some Camelot faculty, students and parents were up early on Saturday morning to support the Florence Forth race.  We are very proud and appreciative of such a show of commitment to our school and to thelocal community.

Check out the great new pics in the Big Hall - 13-14 Whole School, Faculty and the Class of 2014!

Reminder- if you've had your Family Conference, please fill out the post-conference survey using the link sent to you in Ms. Lynne's email.

Webinar of Interest?

The Search Institute (http://www.search-institute.org/) offers the first of a five-part webinar series that examines the practical implications of its framework of Family Assets, or family strengths, based on the American Family Assets Study.

The no-cost webinar is on Wednesday, March 19th, 2014, 12PM - 1PM, CST

Description:
Every family faces challenges, large and small. A key strength in families is to find healthy ways to adapt to challenge and change--and even grow through difficult times. Drawing insights from the American Family Assets Study, this webinar will explore strengths in families that help navigate the ups and downs of life and highlight family practices that can make a difference. By participating in this webinar, you will learn:

The power of cultivating strengths to help your family when facing change and challenges, including insightful research on resilience factors in families dealing with high stress.
Everyday family practices that you can cultivate that will help you grow together--rather than grow apart--in the midst of the difficulties.
Concrete strategies that people who work with families can use to help them tap their strengths to help them through tough times.
