Camelot Update 4/7/13


Greetings!  I hope that you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break.

Our Class of 2013 college season has wrapped up with quite a bit of spectacular news.

New Acceptances:

Josh Stallings - Harvard University, University Of Pennsylvania, Tufts University (with a $20K Neubauer Scholarship) and Duke University
Zachariah Claypole White - Sarah Lawrence College (with an 88K Presidential Scholarship),  Oberlin College (with an 80K John Frederick Oberlin Scholarship) and Wesleyan College (with a $34K Wesleyan Scholarship)
Bri Oleson - Barnard College and New York University
William Radclifffe - Vanderbilt University School of Engineering
Lennon Klinger-Mehrbach- Tulane University

New Scholarships:

Bri Oleson - a 64 K Presidential Scholarship from Pratt Institute and a $1000 Burger King Scholars Foundation Award


Our England travelers returned from their whirlwind tour last week and we look forward to hearing about all of their adventures.  Many thanks to Ms. Jill for chaperoning the trip and to Ms. Amy for covering the Upper School Language Arts classes in the interim. As we enter the last few weeks of the school year there will be a lot of activity - please read these weekly bulletins carefully to stay on top of everything!

This week:

Monday - The Achieve Portal for viewing Middle and Upper School Mid-Semester grades will close at 4 PM.  Last call for returning signed Mid-Semester Warnings to the office!

Tuesday - Deadline for juniors (and their parents) to return College Night homework.


Later this month:

Wed, April 24-Friday, April 26- Nationally standardized tests (ERB-CTBIV) administered to 2nd-11th graders in the mornings.  (Kindergarten and first graders will have activities at the Specials Building and off campus.)  Seniors will have abbreviated hours.

Wednesday, April 24 - afternoon - Spring Festival (this is a change from the date on the school calendar)
Wednesday, April 24 - afternoon - performance bands session at recording studio

Thursday, April 25 - afternoon - Talent Show (in house for student audience) - all acts will be considered for an encore performance at Evening of the Arts on Friday, May 3 - details next week.

Friday, April 26 - Early Dismissal (12:30 PM Lower/ 12:45 Middle and Upper)
Upper School Dance in the evening
