Weekly Update 4/19/09

Greetings!

I hope you enjoyed a great week with your family. We return tomorrow for a very busy six weeks - Evening of the Arts, the Upper School dance, Spring Festival and - of course - graduation all are yet to come. Please note all of these events on your family calendar!

Congratulations to
senior Hayes Perry for earning a $28,000 Scott-Ellis Scholarship to Campbell University.

Junior Molly Williams has been recognized by the College Board as a top scorer on the PSAT. Molly is in the top 3% of the 1.5 million students who took the test last October. She will now move on for consideration as a semifinalist which will be announced in September.

Junior Michael Berro has been accepted to Davidson College’s July Experience with at $500 scholarship.

Junior REMINDER - autobiographies and parent info forms are due tomorrow!

Check out the Gallery on the website for another upload of pictures - including the basketball cook out and lots of student artwork.

Moving Up Visits - over the next few weeks students moving up to another classroom or division next year will be scheduled for a one day visit. This is always an exciting time for students to explore what lies ahead!

PARENT SERVICE OPPORTUNITY - we need the planter boxes on the front porch planted with flowers. We can offer three hours of credit for shopping and planting. Please contact Wendy if this is something you can do in the next couple of weeks.

SUMMER CAMP/SCHOOL - applications/inquiries from the general public have been coming in all week. Don’t get closed out - sign up now!

Upper School
- crates are out Wednesday and Thursday and Thursday 8-8:30 AM is drop in Advisor Day.

Friday is School Spirit Day -
our theme is "Dress Like Royalty" - dust off those crowns!

Finally, please
double check assignment notebooks today to be sure everything is in order and packed up for the start of classes tomorrow. We look forward to a happy and productive several weeks.

Best,

Thelma
