Weekly Update 9/6/09

Greetings and Happy Labor Day weekend!

As I’m sure you are aware,
school is closed tomorrow in observance of Labor Day.

Orientation pictures are up on our website - check out the Gallery. Many thanks to Scott Mitchell for making the time to get these photos up quickly at this hectic time of year.

Lunch order forms go home Tuesday for a Wednesday AM return. Remember - you can download a copy of the lunch form from our website. We hope to go “live” with online ordering later this month.

Our
soccer team had a great first game - although it wasn’t a win it was a strong start. This week they have two games - on Wednesday at 5 PM at home and on Friday at 4:30 PM away (we are waiting for field location info). Camelot will transport players to both games. Families are expected to provide their own pick up from home games. If your student needs a ride back to Camelot after the Friday away game please respond to this email and we’ll make arrangements.

Music teacher
Daniel Raimi is offering private guitar lessons for students ages 6 and up at Camelot. He is also available for lessons in music theory, composition and jazz improv. Lessons will be scheduled for Tuesday and Friday afternoons in the music room. We are truly fortunate to have another such talented and accomplished musician available to work with our students. Learn more about Daniel’s work at his website www.danielraimi.com. (30 minutes lessons @$25/45 minute lessons @$35). To set up lessons contact him at music@camelotacademy.org.

On Friday your student will go home with a
Retreat Feedback Form. Please plan to complete this form next weekend and return it on Monday so that your input can be part of our agenda. Specifically, we will be looking for comments or questions about your student’s experience thus far. Thanks, in advance, for making this a priority.

We have our
first few cases of the flu reported in our students and faculty. Everyone has been doing a great job of following the protocol we talked through at Parent Orientation and so we hope to minimize the overall impact on our school year.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we’ll see you on Tuesday.

Best,

Thelma
