Weekly Update 3/29/09

Greetings!

Congratulations to
senior Jonathan Monroe on his acceptance to Earlham College with a $36,000 Presidential Honors Scholarship.

Today (Sunday) we have our final Open House of the year from 2-4 PM. If you have friends who are interested please send them over or stop by yourself to check out a different division of the school.

We have
two Spirit Days this week - Monday is “Dress like your favorite team” day and Tuesday is “Dress like the 60’s” day.

There is
no soccer this Monday (this date off was originally noted at the time of sign up). Younger soccer players who wish to attend this Wednesday may do so as a make up for the earlier canceled rain date.

Wednesday - Friday the 2nd-11th graders have standardized testing all morning long. Please note that these nationally normed tests (ERB) are required by the state and are part of your student’s permanent record. It is a challenge to strike the right balance with students between taking these tests seriously and not getting “stressed out.” We strive to create a balanced confident atmosphere and we need your help to do so - please take extra care to ensure a good sleep each night, a good breakfast each morning and a timely arrival at school.

Kindergarten and first grade students will be on a morning field trip on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Thanks to Ms Denise for setting up such a fun time and thanks to the parents who will be assisting.

Pizza orders for the month of April will go home Wednesday for a Thursday return. See the website for a copy of this form.

Mid Semester grades will be mailed to Sr MAPP through Upper School students by the end of the week.

Talent Show auditions will be held the week of April 6. Selected acts will perform either at Evening of the Arts (May 1) or at a Morning Meeting. Mark your calendars now for Friday, May 1 - the Evening of the Arts will showcase drama class work, music class work, dance club and talent show acts. It promises to be a fun time!

Have a great week!

Best,

Thelma
